Farm Safety

Another summer vacation upon us = a great time to learn about safety when visiting a farm! Although we don't LIVE on a farm, like many of the children who attend this event, we DO visit a friend's farm often during the summer months! This serves as a good reminder to...
stick with a buddy...
have fun...
listen to rules and directions....
dial 911 in an emergency...
state your name, address, and what the emergency is...
stick with your group....
keep a safe distance from yourself and tractors/other farm equipment......
what NOT to do on the farm....
learn that "You're asking for trouble when you ride double!".....
and demonstrate WHERE the safest place in your home is in case of a tornado!

That pretty much sums up our day, although there were other sessions including sunscreen/water safety, grain safety, poison control, disabilities, fire/fireworks safety, and PTO safety that I didn't get pictures of! The kids learned so much, made new FIRST AID kits for the family, and were able to share the excitement with school friends at the same time! Thanks Mary K for this wonderful learning opportunity for the children of Cass County!
