Since we were in Bemidji for Kate and Rich's wedding anyways, we visited Paul Bunyan Park not just once.... but twice. The kids had a blast visiting the lumberjack and ox from that ever so popular tall tale, while Mommy got to re-visit many fond childhood memories spent in Bemidji visiting grandparents on both sides, along with numerous aunts/uncles and cousins! As many of my co-workers shared with me last week, Paul Bunyan wasn't going to seem as large anymore now that I am all grown up. You were right! What a disappointment to me that he really isn't as BIG as I once thought him to be, but in the eyes of a child, everything is just that much BIGGER! A great time was had by all, and I'm glad I was able to share a part of my past with them in such a fun way! I was amazed at their excitement, but even more proud that they each thanked me for bringing them to Bemidji, and shared with me how much fun they really had (especially for the $1.50 train ride)! LOL!
